You can’t quite remember when you started calling her ‘Nay.’ At first, it was just ‘Manang,’ but perhaps it changed during those tight-budget days when you craved a hearty meal. She would offer a complimentary banana, sensing your need, or maybe it was during one of those stressful nights at work when her Lugaw was bursting with chicken bits, and extra egg mixed in.
